Acer Inc. 2010 financial results: Consolidated revenue NT$629.1B (US$19.9B), operating income NT$18.2B (US$575M), PAT NT$15.1B (US$478M), EPS NT$5.7


TAIPEI, TAIWAN

Acer Inc.’s Board of Directors today approved the financial results for year 2010. Acer achieved consolidated revenues of NT$629.1B (US$19.9B) representing 9.6% (or 14.1% assessed in US$) year-on-year (YOY) growth and operating income of NT$18.2B (US$ 575 M) with 18.7% YOY growth; both results marked record highs for Acer.

Profits-after-tax (PAT) reached NT$15.1B (US$478M) and is largely comprised of operating income due to relatively limited gains from non-core investment disposals. Earnings-per-share (EPS) was NT$5.7.

In Q4 2010, consolidated revenues were NT$149.1B (US$4.7B), down 11% (or down 7.7% assessed in US$) YOY. Operating income was NT$4.4B (US$139M), down 11.7% YOY. PAT reached NT$3.9B (US$123M) and EPS was NT$1.47.

Acer’s Board of Directors also nominated Sir Julian Horn-Smith and Dr. F.C. Tseng as independent directors. Sir Julian formerly served as deputy CEO of Vodafone Group; Dr. Tseng is the vice chairman of TSMC. The nominations shall be put forth for election at the next shareholders’ meeting in Taipei on June 15, 2011.
